How do I set-up RSS Feeds? The first step is to build your RSS feeds. Here at LITR we suggest using some type of software unless you like writing XML code by hand. Try www.feedforall.com . They have an easy-to-use RSS feed builder that allows you to create and manage all your feeds in one Once you've created your feed you'll have to upload the XML file to your web server.FeedForAll.com will automatically convert your feed into XML so you don't need to worry about additional formatting or coding. FeedForAll also has a built-in upload feature so you can upload the XML file right to your web server with their software. Before you do this you will need to make sure that your web site hosting service has a storage area called and FTP site that you can upload the information to for storage and access later. The URL will be something like http://www.yoursite.com/yourfeed.xml. This is the link to your RSS/XML feed, and the one you'll be promoting and marketing so anyone can subscribe. The further benefit to you is that any time you add a new article to your feed, that XML file is updated automatically. If you don't want to buy extra software to create your RSS feed, then LITR recommends you create one for FREE using www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com . By doing so the URL is automatically created for you. Now everytime you add a new post to your blog, the RSS feed is automatically updated. Now on to promting your RSS feed. One of the easiest ways to market your RSS feed on your site is to use www.feedburner.com . They provide a redirect link of your URL (address) for the feed so that your audience can subscribe to it. FeedBurner provides several methods of announcing your RSS feeds. You can display a traditional RSS button or rotate your feeds banner-style on your web pages. The benefit is that if you move your blog and your RSS feed URL changes, you don't have to worry about losing your subscribers because the redirect link URL always stays the same. The cool thing about RSS feeds is that other people can use them as content on their website. So if you have a feed that is of particular interest to another webmaster, they can post your content on their site with a simple javascript code. This is another great way to provide increased traffic to your site. Talk Back at you later! Stephan www.linkedin.com/in/liveinternettalk
